Final Type Layout Themes and Design Choices:

Connecting Roads, the building and forging of paths that Immigrants create for betterment of their and their children’s futures’
Movement of Type from one side of the page to another; Before the addition of the movement from animation, I wanted the type to have this clear journey from point A to point B, representing the alternate worlds people are crossing into to get the their ‘American Dream’
Letters that extend towards one another offering support while maintaining a sharpness and edge that is the required strength it takes immigrants to make such huge sacrificial changes to their lives. ‘Immigrant Parents,’ at least in my experience, often maintain a level of harshness or this sharpness in their parenting style. Many children are left in the dark about the struggles and sacrifices their parents made for the betterment of their lives.
When this is understood however, I find that gratitude outweighs any misgivings or misunderstandings about their true love and care, albeit shown quite differently.
